A tractor-trailer caught on fire outside a Goodwill Thrift Store & Donation Center in Buckhead overnight, choking the store with smoke. The large truck was backed into the loading dock at the store off Piedmont Road NE when the fire began. Fire officials have not yet commented on how the flames started, but they did say a firefighter was treated for heat exhaustion at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital. Workers are cleaning up the location, and the store and donation center are expected to open as normal this morning, according to Goodwill of North Georgia. “Thankfully, there was very little on the trailer, so we did not lose any of those donations that we so appreciate,” said Trenise Lyons, Goodwill of North America’s director of communications and customer engagement.
