Students were safely evacuated from Cedar Shoals High School early Wednesday morning after a small fire occurred in a school bathroom, according to the Athens-Clarke County Police Department. The fire occurred sometime around 9:40 a.m. According to the fire department, the sprinkler system extinguished the fire. School maintenance staff and firefighters are working to restore the system and remove water, fire officials said.
