A house in Cherokee County was destroyed on Thursday after a fire tore through the unoccupied home. Cherokee County fire officials say a person walking down Green Circle noticed the porch was on fire and called 911. Firefighters responded to the house near Ball Ground Highway to find that the fire had grown and taken over a large portion of the house. Crews searched inside and did not find anyone. Firefighters were able to put the fire out, but not before it caused significant damage. It’s unclear if anyone lived in the home or if it was vacant. Fire officials say they are still working to learn how the fire started.
