Newark’s public safety agencies will team up Tuesday for a community event in observance of National Night Out.
The free festival is set for 6 to 8 p.m. on Academy Street, between Main Street and Delaware Avenue.
“The event provides a chance for the public to meet and interact with local first responders and to learn about what they do on a daily basis,” said Lt. Andrew Rubin, a spokesman for the Newark Police Department. “Agencies will be showcasing some of their equipment and specialized units.”
Participating agencies include the Newark Police Department, University of Delaware Police Department, Delaware Natural Resources Police, Delaware Department of Correction Probation & Parole, Aetna Hose, Hook & Ladder Company, University of Delaware Emergency Care Unit and Delaware Air National Guard.
