A fire broke out at 99 Powder Hill Road early Sunday morning, according to a statement from the Middlefield Volunteer Fire Co. The fire was reported at 4:56 a.m. and was in the ceiling of the facility's connected maintenance building.
Crews quickly extinguished the blaze. No injuries were reported, and the facility reopened for business Sunday.
The Durham Volunteer Fire Co., Westfield Fire Co., Killingworth Vol. Fire Co., South Fire District, Middletown Fire, and Meriden Fire all responded to the call.
The Middlefield Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the fire.
