Firefighters are investigating after a box truck with propane tanks on board caught fire in Hebron. Crews have responded to the area of Jennifer Drive. A Connecticut Propane and Petroleum vehicle went up in flames. While employees were driving, smoke was coming from the engine, so the driver pulled over. The employees were just driving through and weren't making any deliveries. No homes in the area had to evacuate and the fire didn't extend beyond the car. The propane company drivers removed one of the tanks out of the back, leaving only one tank in the truck. The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection said the propane tank was empty. Officials said they investigated and found no release of petroleum products. Connecticut State Police helped direct traffic in the area. The fire was under control within 15 minutes.
