Two new faces have joined the city’s emergency services after being sworn in at a recent ceremony.
Vincent Del Vecchio and Thomas O’Toole were sworn in as West Haven’s newest firefighter/paramedics May 28 at the Minor Park Station on Fairfax Street, according to a release from the city.
O’Toole and Del Vecchio recently finished an18-week recruit firefighter training program at the Connecticut Fire Academy in Windsor Locks, the release said. They have begun a two-week orientation with the City of West Haven Fire Department Allingtown, it said.
“Both firefighters were already nationally certified paramedics upon their hiring, and the department is fortunate to have their skills availed to its delivery service to the public at this EMS advanced level,” Chief Michael R. Terenzio said in the release.
