A stretch of Ethan Allen Highway was briefly closed Tuesday morning after a collision that required extrication for one driver, according to police and fire officials. First responders were dispatched to the area of 600 Ethan Allen Highway around 8 a.m. Police Capt. Shawn Platt said it was a two-vehicle collision with both vehicles sustaining moderate damage. The drivers of each vehicle were taken to Danbury Hospital to be treated for their injuries, Platt said. The extent of their injuries was not immediately known. Fire Chief Jerry Myers said a crew was sent to the scene for what was initially reported as a minor head injury from the crash. But once police arrived and confirmed one person was entrapped in their vehicle, Myers said the fire department sent additional units for a full extrication response.
