Fire departments along the Connecticut shoreline teamed up Saturday for their annual food drive.
The food drive was set up at multiple locations along the shoreline, collecting non-perishable food for the Soup Kitchen and Pantries (SSK&P).
Chief Meteorologist Gil Simmons appeared at Big Y in Old Saybrook, one of the donation drop-off locations.
Just at the Old Saybrook locations, firefighters collected over 3,800 lbs of food and around $1,580 for the food pantry.
There were also drop off locations in Clinton, Essex, Westbrook and Chester.
