Four adults and two children were displaced Saturday night after firefighters quickly extinguished a two-alarm fire at a two-story home on the city's east side Saturday evening. No injuries were reported. Deputy Fire Chief James Buck said crews were called to the 600 block of Maple Street where they found a "fully developed" fire. Dispatch sent multiple fire units to the scene around 7:20 p.m., according to initial reports. Firefighters at the scene reported "heavy fire" showing on the first and second floor of the wood-frame home. A second alarm was sounded because of the fire's proximity to a large apartment building, Buck said. Firefighters reported the bulk of the fire had been put out a little before 7:40 p.m. The fire extended to a nearby building. Crews were working to put out "hot spots" at both structures, according to dispatch reports.
