Wildfire near Twin Lakes grows to 200 acres

VIDEO: Fire crews have ordered evacuations near a fire burning around Twin Lakes near Leadville in Lake County. The fire grew from 165 acres around 6 p.m. on Tuesday to 200 acres around 8 p.m. The fire was burning 12 miles southwest of Leadville. Resources from the U.S. Forest Service, Leadville Lake County Fire Rescue, Lake County Sheriff's Office, Leadville Ranger District and other agencies are on scene. All historic structures in the Interlaken Historic District were intact as of 8 p.m., according to Jeni Windorski, spokeswoman for the U.S. Forest Service. People were asked to evacuate the area of Interlaken and County Road 25. Balltown and Lost Canyon Road were on pre-evacuation status. As of Wednesday morning, those areas are no longer on pre-evacuation notice.
