Pittsburg brush fire that burned 18+ acres started from homeless encampment, firefighters say

VIDEO: A brush fire in threatened homes in Pittsburg Tuesday evening. The fire burned near West Leland Road and Rancho Medanos Junior High School. Crews say it started at a homeless encampment. Firefighters say at one point, the fire burned into backyards and homes were threatened. More than 75 firefighters from Con Fire and CAL FIRE were able to get control of the flames. This time-lapse video shows thick smoke pouring from the fire. Flames burned more than 18 acres.
