Fire officials said there are a “lot of questions” following a Tuesday morning structure fire. The fire started shortly before 7:30 a.m. Sept. 3 in the 2100 block of Cotton Street. Fire officials on the scene told K8 News Anchor Macy Davis that it initially took them a while to get into the building. While they worked to knock down the flames, Jonesboro police officers blocked off the road. The house was vacant, and no injuries were reported. The fire marshal was called to the scene to investigate the cause. Chief Jason Wills said the home had no utilities running to it. “There are a lot of questions,” he said. “There were people there doing stuff.” He added that the building sustained “a lot of damage” and is unsafe to enter. He urged anyone with information about the fire to call the Jonesboro Fire Department.
