6-year-old child died early Monday morning after the northern Arkansas home they were asleep in became "fully engulfed" in flames, the Boone County sheriff said in a news release. According to Sheriff Roy Martin, two adults and one juvenile were able to escape the home at 3582 AR-7 in Harrison. "Sheriff Martin regrets to announce that a six year old that was asleep in the home was succumbed by the blaze," the news release said. The sheriff's office said the Bergman Fire Department responded to the fire shortly after 4:20 a.m. where mutual aid was requested after discovering the house being "fully engulfed." The Harrison Fire Department and Cottonwood Fire responded to assist, authorities said. Officials said the cause of fire is under investigation and the victim's body will be sent to the medical examiner's office in Little Rock to determine an exact cause of death.
