Heavy rain created flooding issues in the city along with power outages and road closings throughout April 28.
The city received about 4.56 inches of rain April 28, according to meteorologist Pete Snyder at the National Weather Service's office in Tulsa, Okla.
Several road closings occurred due to the flooding, according to Capt. Derek Spicer of the Police Department. Street and highways were closed at the intersection of Arkansas 16 and U.S. 412; Abraham Drive; the intersection of Arkansas 16 and East Kenwood Street; East Main Street; South Hico Street by the railroad bridge; the intersection of East University Street and North Hico Street; and the intersection of East University and North Washington Street.
Flooding also caused several motorists to become trapped in their vehicles.
Firefighters responded to a call for a vehicle rescue at 9:03 a.m., according to Fire Chief Jeremey Criner.
