A woman fired up over cigarettes apparently set fire to her daughter-in-law’s laundry, deputies say. Saturday evening Craighead County sheriff’s deputies responded to a possible arson on County Road 620. The victim said her mother-in-law, 56-year-old Caroline Sue Gann, had set her clothes on fire. The woman said Gann got mad at her and her husband for not giving her some money to buy cigarettes. After her husband agreed to take Gann to buy a pack of cigarettes, the woman said she noticed smoke in the kitchen. She went into her laundry room and found a pile of freshly-washed clothes on fire. The woman said she had just hung up the clothes before Gann left, and believes she set them on fire. The woman managed to put out the fire and call 911.
