VIDEO: Friday’s weather didn’t stop a local fire department from helping give back to a great cause. Fire departments across the nation have worked with the Muscular Dystrophy Association for years, raising money for research with Fill the Boot. Friday was the Paragould Fire Department’s first time participating in the event, and Fire Chief Kevin Lang said the department enjoyed getting into the community in a new way. “It is a lot of fun getting to do it this way, instead of having to go somewhere and put out a fire or help someone that’s been in a vehicle accident, so it feels really good to give back this way,” said Lang. The fire department was set up at both Walmart locations in Paragould. Chief Lang said they raised nearly $4,000 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
