Man rescued from Birmingham house fire

A man was rescued from a house fire in Birmingham Tuesday evening. Birmingham Fire & Rescue said the incident happened in the 800 block of 6th Street West. The fire department said a man was rescued from the residence and taken to a local hospital, adding that he was "conscious and alert."
