State Sen. Randy Price (District 13) attended the Randolph County Association of Volunteer Fire Departments' quarterly meeting hosted by West Randolph VFD at Mt. Prospect Baptist Church on Monday night. Price presented a signed resolution (No. 21-172) filed with the Senate of Alabama on July 22 to Rock Stand Volunteer Fire Department and their chief, David Treadwell, for exemplary service following the devastating EF2 tornado that tore through their community on the night of March 25. While much attention has been focused on the Corinth and County Line areas, the Rock Stand community had 35 residences that suffered wind/tree damage and six that were total losses. Unfortunately, five of the 35 households had no insurance to cover their losses. However, with more than $11,075 collected from charitable donations, Chief Treadwell formed a committee to establish a priority system to ensure those with the greatest needs were addressed first.
