Only a few houses in a Juneau neighborhood are still without power as crews continue to clean up debris from a landslide that happened Monday evening. As of 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, traffic was moving through Gastineau Avenue again as the road was reopened. An update from the City and Borough of Juneau said crews began clearing debris at 8 a.m. Wednesday, once it was determined that it was safe enough to work in the area, and “approximately 15 truckloads” of debris was moved. “We are not seeing additional rain and wind that would lead us to believe that we are at any heightened risk, any more risk then normal for additional landslide activity,” Robert Barr, the Deputy City Manager for the City and Borough of Juneau, said.
