Capital City Fire and Rescue are looking at getting two new fire engines, as well as another new ladder truck, but it'll be a while.
The new ladder truck the department has been in the process of acquiring for the last two years is anticipated to arrive in Juneau next month, Fire Marshal Dan Jager said while a guest on Action Line.
Jager said the production and manufacturing of the truck, currently being undertaken in Wisconsin, will be wrapping up by the end of May.
"I imagine we're going to have a big, community-wide open house type thing where people come by the station and check it out," he said. "It's going to be new, it's new for us, not only because it's a brand new piece of equipment, but it's a type of equipment we've never had before."
