Position Summary:The Training Captain’s primary duty is the performance of office or non-manual work directly related to the general operations of the Fire Department by researching, planning and implementing basic and advanced technical training programs, including firefighting tactics and strategy, fire apparatus hazardous materials and EMS services. The Training Captain is responsible for the management and day-to-day operation of all aspects of the Fire Department’s firefighter training program, including the planning, implementation, and coordination of a comprehensive training schedule. The Training Captain is expected to exercise discretion and independent judgment in all his or her duties, including but not limited to, creating, administering, managing and budgeting for the Fire Department’s firefighter training program.
