The City of Manistee (EOE) is seeking one individual for immediate full-time employment for the position of Firefighter/Paramedic and establishing an eligibility list for anticipated future openings in the next calendar year. These are non-SAFER positions. Starting paramedic salary of $51,094 (17.55/hour) - $59,812 (20.54/hour) commensurate with experience, with generous annual increases and a competitive benefits package including MERS Defined Benefit pension plan, health, dental, optical, life insurance, paid holidays, sick leave, and vacation. This opening is for a 56 hour per week position working 48 hours followed by 96 hours off. Preference will be given to experienced Firefighter Paramedic candidates, but being a paramedic is not a requirement. Successful candidates are required to undergo drug screening, pass a physical fitness test, pass an oral interview, pass a psych test, and undergo a reference or security check.
