The City of Tukwila and Fire Department is accepting applications for Deputy Fire Chief. We are seeking someone who is highly motivated, committed to the future, and focused on the long-term objectives of the City and Department's mission and core values. This position performs a variety of supervisory, technical, and administrative tasks. Duties include and not limited to leading, coaching, supervising personnel staff, planning, organizing budget plans, implementing fire operations/suppression management systems, effective communication on emergency medical services core competencies as well as general emergency response proficiencies, and assisting with training/education programs within the department.
The Deputy Chief is an exempt role and reports directly to the Fire Chief. Applicants will be required to complete a comprehensive background process including: personal background investigation, psychological, and medical evaluation as part of the pre-employment process.
Hiring Salary Range: $120,000 - $156,000 (depending on qualifications) plus employer paid benefits and part of the Washington State Retirement Plan.
** Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the position along with all non-represented positions in the City of Tukwila - is subject to a 10% reduction through the end of 2020.**
