Competency Recognition

  • The State Fire Marshal’s office is rewriting the Oregon Administrative Rules as they relate to Competency Recognition. The Competency Recognition program outlines the training and certification requirements for a fire code official to perform inspections within the State of Oregon. This program applies to all fire agencies including exempt jurisdictions. We will present information on the updated rules and their adoption process along with the new recognition levels and how they apply to each fire agency and individuals. We will be providing information and details on the new classes that are part of the Competency Recognition program as well as the streamlined process to help fire agencies apply for Competency Recognition.
