Report findings from our latest edition of Fire in the United States 2008-2017 show a rise in the trend of overall fire deaths.

 


Over the 10 years from 2008 to 2017, the U.S. had an annual average of 1,344,100 fires, resulting in:

3,190 civilian deaths.

16,225 civilian injuries.

$14.7 billion in direct property loss each year.


 

The U.S. Fire Administration recommends everyone should have a comprehensive home fire protection plan that includes smoke alarms, fire sprinklers, and practicing a fire escape plan.
