Jeff Johnson, Fire Chief (Ret.)

Chief Jeff Johnson has an extensive public safety and technology background, with broad experience at both the local and national level. Chief Johnson served as Chair of Oregon’s Statewide Interoperability Executive Council, which is transitioning from four independent state-owned radio networks into a single interoperable modern voice and data network. Concurrently, Chief Johnson was the Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue Fire Chief/Chief Executive Officer for 15 years and retired in 2010 after a 32 year fire service career. Chief Johnson has served as President and Chairman of the Board of the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) and is the past Chairman of Emergency Services Consulting International Corporation. He is now Executive Director of the Western Fire Chiefs Association and a Board Member of the First Responders Network Authority better known as FirstNet, who is building a nationwide public safety voice and data broadband network for public safety. Chief Johnson has authored 2 books and serves on the boards for Brycer Technologies and Beyond Lucid Technologies. Additionally, Chief Johnson chaired the board of Informed Technologies… which was the nation’s market leader in public safety apps which recently sold. Chief Johnson lives in Sisters Oregon with his wife of 30 years and their son where he enjoys the endless outdoor activities.
