Spokane Valley fire investigators are looking into four early-morning fires they believe were intentionally set and they are now asking for the public's help. A series of four separate fires within the span of an hour kept firefighters busy Friday morning. The first fire was reported just after 3:30 a.m. in a garbage can on E. Broadway between Barker High School and North Pines Junior High. As firefighters were extinguishing that fire, a passerby stopped at the scene to report another fire at the Spokane Baptist Church nearby. Crews responding to the church found two portable toilets next to the church on fire. After extinguishing that fire, a third one was reported one block south on E. Valleyway. When firefighters arrived to put out that garbage can fire, a neighbor alerted them to a fourth fire down the street. While responding to the fourth fire at the At Home Residential Care facility, a caretaker told investigators he was speaking to an intoxicated man about the fire before they arrived. Investigators are now looking for that man who is described as being in his 30's with an average build and height.
