Around 6:30 PM on Thursday December 16th, two rescued survivors of the Mesa Apartment fire stopped by to thank the C-Shift fire fighting crew for saving their lives. Mr. Robert Murr, his granddaughter Safire, along with their family later stopped by to see the personnel that were on duty the same day that their lives were saved. Unfortunately, Mrs. Virginia Murr, Roberts’s wife died days after the incident from injuries sustained from the fire, but Mrs. Murr also was instrumental in saving her granddaughters life by taking Safire to her apartment room where crews found all three of them. Lt. Brian Kneisler of Engine 95, was the first firefighter that Mr. Murr saw at the window.
