Firefighters battled a blaze Tuesday morning at the vacant Klose-in Motel on Aurora Avenue, according to the Seattle Fire Department. The fire in the 9300 block of Aurora Avenue North was under control by 10:30 a.m., and no injuries were reported. The motel has a checkered past. In 2014, a man was critically injured when a natural-gas explosion destroyed a room there. Forty-one people were displaced.
