Emergency crews rescued a driver Monday whose car plunged over an embankment at Snoqualmie Pass overnight and spent more than 12 hours inside his vehicle, officials said. The car went over the embankment off Interstate 90 at about 9 p.m. Sunday and plummeted 100 feet down a steep slope in the snow. The driver decided that it was too dangerous to get out, Trooper Rick Johnson said. And his cell phone died. The driver was able to call 911 at about 9:35 a.m. Monday after his phone was charged, and troopers located the car down the embankment. The driver was rescued by state troopers and units from Eastside Fire & Rescue.
