An investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s Office and the Detective Division of the Hawkins Co. Sheriff’s Office into a pair of suspicious fires that destroyed two Guntown Road homes days apart recently is continuing. On Wednesday, June 20, crime scene tape still surrounded one of the two houses (pictured). Sheriff Ronnie Lawson said that investigators had yet to tell him if they have determined what caused the two blazes. “They are still interviewing people and conducting their investigtion,” Lawson said. The two residences were the homes of two members of the same family, according to the sheriff, who said no injuries resulted from the fires, which took place on different days at homes located only a few hundred feet apart.
