Fire late Thursday afternoon gutted a single-wide mobile home behind a house on a property at 210 Chuckey Ruritan Road. Property owner Lisa Willis said the trailer was unoccupied. There were no injuries. The fire apparently started in the center section of the trailer by the main entrance and “began working its way toward both ends,” Tusculum fire Chief Marty Shelton said. The cause remains under investigation. The property the trailer is on is about a half-mile from U.S. 11E. It is off a gravel road near leading to the Chuckey Ruritan baseball field, near other lots with mobile homes.
