Firefighters from several area departments responded to a building fire at an agricultural equipment and supplies business in rural Pottawattamie County Wednesday afternoon. Lewis Township Assistant Fire Chief Tom O’Connor said his department, along with firefighters from Silver City, Oak Township in Mills County and Treynor quenched the fire at CH Brandt & Sons, 12336 Dumfries Ave. in Council Bluffs. O’Connor said the size of the metal building, coupled with strong winds and bitter temperatures made the response a challenge.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. No one was injured, but farm equipment and cars inside the building are likely a total loss, O’Connor said.
