A fire severely damaged a Bettendorf mobile home and killed the family dog, Bettendorf spokeswoman Lauran Haldeman said Tuesday. The fire was reported at 2:06 p.m. at Glendale Mobile Home Park, 3624 State St. Upon arrival firefighters saw smoke was coming out of the vent openings in the mobile home, Haldeman said. The fire began in the bedroom and caused heavy damage to that room and some damage in the rest of the mobile home, she said. The fire was brought quickly under control.
