The Moultrie Fire Department is going pink. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, members of the MFD will be wearing pink T-shirts in the month of October. The shirts are available for purchase by the public, and all proceeds will go to breast cancer research. “I think it is important to show our support to those in our community who have battled breast cancer,” said Human Resources Director Marci Meadows. Shirts can be purchased for $15 at Fire Station No. 1 at Moultrie City Hall. City staff said at Tuesday’s city council meeting that more than 500 shirts have already been sold.
