One clothing company is hoping to help the Savannah Police Department. After losing two of their own in a matter of days, it's been a tough time for the department, and Nine Line Apparel, a company known for giving back, wants to lend a helping hand and support the department. Officer Joey Lupus of the Southside Precinct Crime Suppression Unit passed away on Tuesday, May 22. Then, just a few days later on Friday, May 25, Officer Anthony Christie died after his patrol car was struck by a tractor-trailer while working an early-morning crash on Interstate 16. ... Nine Line and Northwest Exterminating want to feed all first responders around the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry. All police, firefighters, EMT’s, and other first responders are invited to the lunch that will take place on Thursday, June 14 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nine Line says all proceeds from the new Savannah PD design will go directly to the department, and then those funds will be shared between the two families.
