Chatham Apartments on Abercorn Street was evacuated late Friday night due to a fire in one of the apartments. Savannah Fire responded on-scene after receiving a call for a fire alarm activation around 11:03 p.m. Firefighters found heavy, black smoke coming from the apartment where the fire began. They were able to contain the blaze to just one room.
