Six new firetrucks were approved recently for purchase by the Cobb County Board of Commissioners. An Air and Light truck will be bought for $417,219 from V. T. Hackney Inc. This specialized rescue vehicle provides air and light equipment on-site. Five replacement engines for Fire/EMS response apparatus will be purchased for $583,476 each from Pierce Manufacturing for a total of nearly $2.92 million. Funding will come from the Fire Fund’s Capital Projects budget for the Air and Light truck and from the Fire Fund’s fund balance for the five engines.
