A complete stranger is bringing some joy back to a local family. "I pretty much watch Channel 12 like two or three times a day,” Pierre Czernowski said. It’s not everyday that a story grabs Czernowski’s attention, but CBS12 News' story on Tuesday with the mother of Jonnhy Ramirez did. The story with Zoila Castillo, who lost her little boy Jonnhy on New Year’s Eve in a hit-and-run, brought tears to his eyes. "I think we all need help and especially during times of major crisis in our lives,” Czernowski said. Czernowski himself needs a little help. "I have diabetes and kidney disease and I have cancer,” he said. “I haven't driven in over three years.” None of that was stopping Czernowski from lending a hand to Jonnhy’s family. They’re the first family he plans to help this year.
