When Jim Lundh was new in his career as a firefighter, his 2-year-old-daughter, Kayla, gave him a stuffed dalmatian as a present. She had won it, with him guiding her hand over a claw machine at a Beef O'Brady's, but she wanted him to keep it. She called it a rescue dog.
Eighteen years later, the dog stayed with Lundh on each call he responded to. The dog sat in his helmet with his gear, and when he put his helmet on, he left it in the truck for safe keeping.
