The party at Hops Bar in Delaware Park celebrated the 2019 WDEL/WSTW firefighters calendar that helps raise funds for the Delaware Volunteer Firefighters Association.
Firefighters from Lewes to Brandywine Hundred are represented in the calendar. Staring off the 2019 edition is Mr. January, Belvedere Chief Dwayne Pearson, who knows that the calendar goes a long way towards new apparatus, gear, and training.
"At the end of the day, it's all about supporting your local fire department," he said. "Everything that we ride, wear, or use--that helps us help our brothers and sisters in the communities--it's all needed. Funding is a big part of the fire service."
