Quick work by firefighters limited the damage to a home in Claymont's Stockdale neighborhood.
The fire at the corner of Cathedral and Stockdale avenues was reported shortly after 1 p.m. on Monday, June 4, 2018. Claymont firefighters, just blocks away, were on the scene in less than two minutes and started attacking the flames which had originated on a porch and started to spread to the main house.
Other arriving firefighters from New Castle County and Delaware County, Pennsylvania began searches and checks for fire extension.
Everyone got out of the house safely and no injuries were reported.
The Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause.
