The Camden-Wyoming woman responsible for the crash that resulted in the destruction of Ed's Chicken and Crabs in Dewey Beach pleaded guilty on one charge of DUI and one charge of criminal mischief.
At just past 2 a.m. August 9, 2016, Michelle Small, 37, was traveling at a high rate of speed eastward toward Dewey Beach in her 2013 Mini Cooper when she went over the median and crashed into Ed's Chicken and Crabs. The crash severed a propane line, which caught fire and caused major damage to the restaurant, to the tune of about $75,000.
