Prosecutors will check on the probation status of a former Dayville fire department deputy chief ahead of his next court appearance on disorderly conduct charges.
Todd Wakefield briefly met with prosecutors Wednesday before his case was continued until Jan. 23. Assistant State’s Attorney Mark Stabile said Wakefield needed time to retain a lawyer.
“My office will also look into his probation situation,” Stabile said.
Wakefield, 48, of 939 N. Main St., Danielson, was arrested Dec. 18 and charged with two counts of disorderly conduct after police said the former firefighter created a drunken disturbance at a department banquet in November.
The December arrest was Wakefield’s third since April 2017.
In September 2017, Wakefield pleaded guilty to charges in two separate cases, including one in which he threatened to dump a female victim’s body in a hole.
