The bodies of two people and a dog were found at the scene of a house fire in Cotopaxi Monday, the Fremont County Sheriff’s Department reported. Deer Mountain Fire Protection District firefighters and Fremont County sheriff’s deputies responded to the 1300 block of 34th Trail in Cotopaxi after receiving a report of a structure fire at approximately 2:30 p.m. Monday. While crews were fighting the fire, they determined that fatalities were involved in the fire, according to a press release from the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office. The home was a total loss. The identities of the victims are being withheld pending an autopsy. The Fremont County Investigations Unit and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation are investigating.
