Longmont fire investigators have not yet determined the cause of a fatal structure fire April 3 at an electrical business. But the city has already decided not to issue any code violations or fines to AAA Electric. Police previously said that Richard Benz — the employee who died in the fire at 24 S. Main St. — had been living in the 10-foot-by-10-foot makeshift living area constructed of various pieces of wood and wood pallets, with electrical extension cords extending from the main building to electric space heaters inside the shed.
