Four firetrucks rushed into the parking lot of the MemorialCare Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital Long Beach Wednesday morning, but there was no fire to extinguish.
Instead, around 20 Long Beach firefighters making their way upstairs to the children’s wing were met with a playroom full of eager kids dressed in their favorite Halloween costumes, ready to make their rounds through the hospital for a unique trick-or-treat experience. Recognizing the importance of providing a normal Halloween celebration for hospitalized children, Long Beach Fire Department partnered with Miller Children’s & Women’s to deliver an experience the kids would not forget.
