While he still has some therapy ahead, Crescent City Fire and Rescue Chief Steve Wakefield is expected to make a full recovery following a hemorrhagic stroke on Jan. 24. Reached at the Pacific Medical Center’s Stroke Care Center in San Francisco, wife Debra Wakefield said he is getting stronger every day.
“Visibly, you wouldn’t know there’s anything wrong with him,” she said, “but he does have some left side vision problems. They tell us that’s going to clear up.”
Debra Wakefield said he will also need physical therapy to deal with some left side weakness.”
