Two people were killed in an early morning fire at a Frazier Park home Kern County Fire Department officials said Sunday. The fire in the 500 block of Truman Drive in Frazier Park tore through a two-story home. Fire crews were called to the home that was fully engulfed in flames at about 5:30 a.m. During the fire, Kern County fire officials said the roof collapsed and flames spread to nearby grasses and pine trees. Officials evacuated three neighboring homes that were threatened. No firefighters were injured. The house was considered a total loss with damage estimated at $300,000. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
